Per Metro, a West Ham fan was struck by a road sweeper in Cologne and police report that he has suffered "life-threatening" injuries. The 68-year-old man was hit at a pedestrian traffic light, and the driver of the road sweeper was also injured, after colliding with a pole.

It has been reported that the Hammers fan fell under the vehicle and may have sustained head injuries. West Ham fans have descended on Germany ahead of their quarter-final first leg against the unbeaten Bundesliga champions-elect.
WHAT POLICE SAID
Police said, per the Daily Mirror: “According to witnesses, the 68-year-old crossed Trankgasse at the pedestrian traffic light at around 9:20 p.m, presumably on red. The cleaning vehicle coming from the direction of Comedy Street hit him.
“Immediately after the collision, the driver aged 29 suddenly steered his sweeper into a traffic light pole. He also suffered minor injuries. The police deployed a traffic accident investigation team to secure evidence and cordoned off a large area of the accident site.”
